The Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam was organized with a view that all the young people in the Church should accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, to train in worship and the fellowship of Christian life; to participate in the mission of the Church; to abide in Christian values; to organize and conduct camps, meetings, discussions to increase the knowledge and experience of youth in the Holy Bible, church’s faith and practice.

The Chembur Marthoma Youth League is comprised of energetic youths from various walks of life. We have amongst us many multi-faceted youngsters from curious teens to active senior youths and even members who have moved out of Chembur but still stay in touch.  Each member utilizes their talents, resources and knowledge to the undertakings of the youth league with the guidance of our Achen, apart from their participation in other church organizations. Many youths are active participants in the Church Choir and also play a big role in Sunday School and Sevika Sangham.

Some of the activities of youth league  include regular praise and worship sessions, Bible studies, cottage prayers, festivities like ‘koith ulsavam’, Parish day and Onam celebrations, fundraising events like bake sales, sandwich sales, canvas auctions etc. There is always an enthusiastic participation in various events like conferences, talent competitions and youth camps organised by the Navi Mumbai Centre , Diocese as well as at the Sabha level. We conduct Shishya – our weekend youth camp every year. Our hope is to always learn and grow in spirit and skill together in the light of the Lord through our many endeavours and the fellowship we share with each other. We understand that youth is a turbulent time given work and exam schedules, so even intermittent participation is appreciated and new members are always welcome into our ever-growing family!
